  • The Mandalorian Supply Drop will include Baby Yoda as an exclusive for New Republic fighters
  • Both the New Republic and Galactic Empire get four new items each in the content update
  • This is not post-launch DLC since EA and Motive said that the game is complete

“Star Wars: Squadrons” is getting a small content update right in time for the debut of the second season of “The Mandalorian.”

Baby Yoda, more accurately known as “The Child” on the show, is being added as a bobblehead or dashboard flair — currently dubbed as the “Mysterious Creature” statue — that players of “Star Wars: Squadrons” can add to their in-game cockpits.

Both the New Republic and the Galactic Empire are getting new items in the space flight simulator title as part of the Mandalorian Supply Drop. Each side gets a new hologram, a decal, a dashboard flair, and a hanging flair.

Unfortunately for players who have cast their lot with the Galactic Empire, the Child will not be adorning their TIE Fighter cockpits. The breakout star of “The Mandalorian” will be a New Republic ship-exclusive that will only be seen in X-wing and Y-wing Fighters.

“’The Mandalorian’ is something that has often been a source of inspiration for us due to its close proximity to our game’s timeline, so it only felt natural to pay homage to it,” noted a “Star Wars: Squadrons” supply briefing.

Players who are hoping for some kind of “Star Wars: Squadrons” crossover that will see Din Djarin pilot the Razor Crest in the middle of one of the missions will, unfortunately, be disappointed, according to The Verge. Electronic Arts and Motive Studios previously announced that there would be no post-launch DLC for the game because it is already a finished product.

The cosmetic update arriving on “Star Wars: Squadrons” is set to release on Oct. 28. Meanwhile, the second season of “The Mandalorian” is set to arrive on Disney+ on Oct. 30 with the titular bounty hunter and the Child about to deal with the consequences of fighting the forces of Moff Gideon at the end of the first season.

Pedro Pascal is returning as the title character, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, and Carl Weathers as Greef Karga while new characters from the “Star Wars” Universe are set to join in the form of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.
