A 16-year-old boy in Indiana is accused of murdering his father at their family's store and attempting to make it look like a robbery before heading off to school.

The teenager identified as Ahmed Al-Malahi was arrested and charged with murder in connection with stabbing Tawfika Al-Malahi 45 times.

The 52-year-old man was found dead at his Fort Wayne convenience store with multiple stab wounds on Feb. 7 at around 5 p.m., the Kansas City Star reported.

Cops spoke to Ahmed, who said he went to school at around 8 a.m. on the day his father was killed. However, the police later checked Northrop High School's attendance records and found that the teenager only arrived at school at around 11:40 a.m. that day.

Surveillance footage also captured the teenager riding a bike outside an elementary school and throwing a garbage bag in a dumpster at around 11 a.m., 21Alive reported.

Investigators retrieved the tossed bag and found that it contained two knives, some clothes, plastic gloves and an empty bottle of bleach. Bits of skin and hair were also stuck to "a metal device" that was found in the garbage bag.

The bag's contents also included the missing DVR for the store's surveillance camera system, officials said.

Ahmed eventually confessed to stabbing his father to death inside the family's convenience store and then trying to make it look like a robbery.

The teenager had left the store unlocked on the night of Feb. 6, "so that he could get inside to do this to his father the next day," court documents said. He came early to the store on the day of the incident and hid behind a table until his unsuspecting father arrived.

After the man entered the store at around 9 a.m., Ahmed ambushed him from behind and repeatedly stabbed him in the back with his mother's knife, according to the teenager's account.

The boy then battered his father's head with a piece of metal, stabbed him in his chest multiple times and then cut his throat.

The teenager cleaned up the scene and took some money out of the cash register to make it look like a robbery, officials said.

Tawfika's son stabbed him 45 times, the coroner's report revealed. After the man was already dead, a deep laceration on his neck and a large fracture to his skull was also inflicted. The motive behind the slaying remains unclear.
