Tom Brady appeared in a hilarious commercial for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Brady, 45, made a cameo in Fox Sports' commercial promoting the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. His brief appearance lasted two seconds, but it was enough for him to make a self-deprecating joke, Entertainment Tonight reported.

At the halfway mark of the 1-minute commercial featuring Jon Hamm as Santa Claus, the Super Bowl champ appeared after Ronaldo was shown on TV celebrating a goal for team Portugal.

"He's getting kind of old, isn't he?" he joked of the 37-year-old soccer player.

ET noted that the statement was somehow a tribute to his 23rd NFL season. He reportedly made the same joke when he appeared in a Hertz commercial to announce his return to football just six weeks after announcing his retirement.

"We've tried to bring some humor to it," Brady explained to ET. "I've been very conscious to try to bring some lightness to the seriousness of our world these days."

In the Hertz ad, Brady tried his hand at post-retirement career option No. 9 as a director of a commercial. He yelled cut but before approaching the actors, he addressed one of them by saying, "So, you've been working at the same job for like 22 years, right? You're just not feeling it anymore. So you retire. And that's when it hits you: Maybe all you needed was a vacation."

He seemed to have made the same realization as he shouted, "I'm not leaving!"

The athlete explained that for his part, it wasn't just a vacation that he needed when he decided to retire in February.

"It was a little more than that," Brady said. "But at the same time, I took some time away, which is always important. It's tough to make a decision right at the end of the season. It's a big commitment to make for football, and it's not just something you can decide. I needed time. And I just figured I'm going to go at it again and just see what we can accomplish."

Less than two months after announcing his retirement, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback decided to continue his NFL career because he "realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands."

However, his decision to unretire affected his marriage with Gisele Bundchen, as per reports. The latter was reportedly tired of him always choosing his career over their family.

After weeks of reports that they had an "epic" fight and had been living separately, Page Six reported that both have retained divorce lawyers and were looking at how to divide their multi-million assets.
