The 109th American International Toy Fair 2012 kicked off this week at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center, New York City. The fair is bringing together more than 1,100 exhibiting manufacturers, distributors, importers and sales agents from around the globe to showcase their toys and entertainment products.

Although hundreds of toys have been unveiled already and the number is on the rise, we have picked our most favorite five toys that are disclosed till now.

Check out the list of top five new toys released at the Toy Fair 2012…

1. Oregon Scientific MEEP!

An Android tablet was launched for kids of 6 years and up. The tablet features a 7-inch color touchscreen, 4GB of memory and Wi-Fi connectivity and come in a rugged case that will protect the device from your kids’ abuse! Now your kids can watch movies, read e-books and play games on their MEEP! The newly launched tablet also features like cloud-based parental controls, g-sensor, and SD card slot.

The MEEP! Tablet will hit market for $149 in August.

2. Mattle Barbie Photo Fashion

Barbie Photo Fashion features a 5-megapixel camera that is positioned into her chest for taking pictures. The partly doll, partly digital camera Barbie comes with a pink USB port to transfer photos to computer. This great toy is due out this August for $50.

3. Hasbro's The Game of Life: zAPPed

Hasbro's The Game of Life enthusiasts who used to play the game in classic boardgame form or on iPhone and iPad as a standalone app, now can combine the two as the company with tech licensed from French software company Volumique, has released a zAPPed edition of The Game of Life, with classic properties such as Monopoly and Battleships.

Hasbro’s the Game of Life: zAPPed Edition lets you enjoy a whole new way to play your Monopoly! Add your iPad to the unique gameboard for a truly interactive family experience.

Hasbro also partnered with America's Funniest Videos to add more life stage appropriate videos to the game. The game will hit store shelves between June and September.

4. Mattel's Apptivity

Mattel this year has launched the Laugh & Learn Apptivity line. This line of toys will work in tandem with the Apple iPads, iPhones, and iPod. The idea will let your kids interact with their toys in a digital way. Apptivity figurines will be available for Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope, Barbie, Hot Wheels, and more. The line is expected to be launched by July 2012, at a price of $29.99.

5. MacFarlane's Halo 4

MacFarlane Toys has revealed the final character design for Master Chief in 343's upcoming shooter, Halo 4. The bigger helmet with chest room made for the Chief's new jet pack might be a signal to change the art style of the series.
