The presidential election is just two days away as poll watchers continue to watch with keen interest.

According to a poll released on Sunday by the Wall Street Journal and NBC News, Democratic nominee Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump by 10 points. Biden's lead was trimmed by a point compared to the mid-October poll. However, it is higher than the Real Clear Politics average of a 7.2-point lead.

The former vice president appears to be favored by a majority of voters who are unhappy with Trump’s performance. The latest poll revealed six out of 10 voters believe the country is on the wrong track, and the majority of voters disapprove of the way Trump handled the coronavirus pandemic. The poll also showed that 57% of the nation disapproves of the president’s response to the pandemic.

Trump leads Biden among white voters by about 51% to 45% and whites without degrees 58% to 37%, the poll showed.

The poll was based on 1,000 registered voters and taken Oct. 29-30. More than half of the participants were contacted by phone. The poll has an estimated margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

In 2016, Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by more than 2.8 million votes, or 2.1 points. A recent poll from the right-leaning Rasmussen Reports shows Biden leading by 3 points, 49%-46%.

Meanwhile, a poll conducted by the New York Times and Siena College found Biden leading in four key states — Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Florida — each by a minimum of 3 points. Trump won all four states, which have a combined total of 70 electoral votes.

Polls in 2020 have taken on a different context, as over 92 million Americans have cast their ballots in early voting. Some experts estimate that over 150 million will vote in 2020 compared to 137 million in 2016.
