Oprah Winfrey is known for being a lot of things--her talk show, book club, philanthropy--but none of those are the reason she was trending on Twitter recently.

The longtime talk show host was the subject of an outlandish rumor claiming that her home was raided and that she was arrested for playing a part in a global sex trafficking ring. The rumor got so big that she wound up trending on the social media app which prompted a response.

"Just got a phone call that my name is trending. And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing. It’s NOT TRUE," Winfrey wrote. "Haven’t been raided, or arrested. Just sanitizing and self distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody."

According to The Washington Post, the random accusations are believed to be "propagated by online devotees of QAnon, the bizarre conspiracy theory that 'centers on the idea that an anonymous government official, or 'Q,' has been secretly sharing messages and symbols that serve as evidence of a hidden plot to overthrow Trump.'"

This isn't the first time Oprah's been the victim of rumors, though it may chart high on the list of the most absurd.

In January, shortly after Megan Markle and Prince Harry announced they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family, it was reported that Winfrey had a hand in the couple's decision, a theory which was also shut down fairly quickly.

"Meghan and Harry do not need my help in figuring out what’s best for them," the 66-year-old said in a statement. "I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family."
