Kate Middleton and Prince William's YouTube channel launch has received mixed responses from social media users.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge officially launched their channel Wednesday with a 25-second teaser video that featured clips from their royal engagements. Prince William and Middleton have since gained over 410,000 subscribers on the platform despite having released only one full video so far.

While many fans and royal watchers were happy that they are now on YouTube and are looking forward to seeing new content from the royal couple, others were not as enthusiastic.

"Not you guys trying sooo hard to be relatable, relax chile," one Twitter user wrote.

"NO. wtf you have a whole country, you don't get to be on YouTube," a second user added.

"Oh look- The Ace Family but paler, somehow even more entitled and out-of-touch," a third user commented with laughing emoji.

"I thought this was for the low class.... what are yall doing on YouTube??" another asked.

"OMG I thought this was so unroyal and a breaker of al[l] protocols," a fifth netizen wrote.

But many also showed support for Middleton and Prince William's new venture, especially the Cambridges' fans who are excited for the upcoming content that the future king and queen consort will share on YouTube.

"Ahh I love this news, the video and how funny you two are with each other I will definitely subscribe," one commented.

"What a terrific way to stay in touch and keep all of us up to date on your work and charities. Well done to you!" another added.

"Finally!!!! So great to have a new way to follow all your engagements, news, updates etc... well done!!! It’s so important really to be seen in all media," a third user wrote with clapping hands emoji.

"I twisted an ankle literally running to hit the Subscribe button! So excited!!!!!" a fourth user commented.

"Marvellous to have you on YouTube. I have subscribed," a fifth netizen added.

Other social media users already have ideas for future videos for Middleton and Prince William's channel, including "Queen Lizzy's morning and skincare routine" as well as a "royal mukbang."

News of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's YouTube debut came after an unnamed royal insider told Us Weekly that Prince William is already planning for the future of monarchy under his reign. The second in line to the throne is reportedly planning to make the royal family "more relatable than the previous generations."
