A venomous snake was found hiding behind the toaster on the kitchen bench at a home in Rosemount, Queensland, Australia, on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers wrote, “A Rosemount family had an Eastern Brown on their kitchen bench hiding behind the toaster! So lucky that they saw it. He was pretty comfortable up there curled up and minding his own business.”

The post added that this incident showed the “climbing capabilities of venomous snakes.”

A video of the rescue showed the snake catcher trying to remove the reptile from behind the toaster using the snake tongs. After removing the snake safely, he puts it in a bag. The reptile was released into the wild. The Facebook post said the second most venomous snake in the world “nearly got tangled in the toaster chord” during the rescue, but the snake catcher “was able to bag him up safely.”

The video has since gone viral with people asking their friends to be careful.

“Check behind your toaster from now on,” wrote a user. “We'll I would be dead, just from the shock of it all,” wrote another user.
