A man was shocked when he saw a huge cobra on the ceiling as he laid down for a nap. The incident took place in the southern Thai province of Trang on Friday.

The man, identified as 42-year-old Pricha, laid down on his bed for a quick nap when he saw the 16-feet-long reptile hiding on the ceiling. He immediately informed the snake catchers.

When the snake catchers arrived, the king cobra was enjoying a nap on the roof. They immediately rescued the reptile with the help of a few snake catching equipment. Once the reptile was brought to the ground, the snake catchers caught it by the head and took it out of the home. The reptile was left in the woods.

The snake catchers said the reptile was looking for water sources as it was very dry in Thailand. They told Pricha that they had caught more than 20 king cobras in the last two months.

Meanwhile, photos of the rescue showed one of the snake catchers holding the reptile by its tail while another member of the rescue team tries to remove it from the roof.

The incident comes less than a month after a pet dog saved his owner from a cobra in the same province. Winai Sangtip was sitting in his living room and watching television when the canine started barking. He initially ignored it but when the dog started barking loudly, he opened the back door and found a large snake curling under the washing machine. Members of the local volunteer rescue foundation were called to the scene and the reptile, a cobra, was rescued and released into the woods.
