According to Military Benefits, “2018 marks the Centennial Commemoration of the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. The theme for the 2018 Veterans Day Poster is: ‘The War to End All Wars’ and features a poppy and barbed wire.”

Over 20,000 people participate at New York’s Veterans Day parade each year, with participants ranging from active military officers, veterans groups, junior ROTC members, to the families of veterans.

“November 11 is a special day to honor service and to remind all Americans, and our elected leaders, of the debt of honor we owe those who have served our nation,” United War Veterans Council President Dan McSweeney said. “At the United War Veterans Council, we consider this a solemn obligation to keep alive in the hearts of Americans a sense of gratitude and obligation to serve those who have served us.”
