A video of a man exercising by hanging from the balcony of the 12th floor of a building in India has gone viral.

The clip recorded in the city of Faridabad, located in the northern state of Haryana, has shocked social media users.

The man is seen holding on to the railing of the balcony of the building and doing some stretches. In the background, a woman's voice is heard saying in the local Hindi language that he's exercising. Another man is then heard expressing shock at the sight. The clip ends with the man getting back inside the balcony.

The voices are believed to be of those residing in the opposite building recording the dangerous stunt, Latestly reported.

It remains unclear when the video was taken. The identity of the man, believed to be a fitness freak, is also not known.

"This man needs a counseling session as he is out of his mind and if he is doing for fun then a strict action should be taken against him as the society kids can copy him," one Twitter user commented on the video posted by ViralVdoz.

Many people called the man "crazy" for attempting such a risky workout.

"Exactly the same could have been done on the opposite side of the balcony! He is not using the space under the floor lever or over the railing level, anyways! He is stupid to not think of the more efficient way," another person wrote.

The video comes just days after a woman living on the 10th floor of a high-rise building dangled her son by a long piece of cloth so that he could retrieve some clothes that fell on the downstairs balcony. The terrifying video of the incident was shared on social media, sparking discussions about child safety. The incident also took place in an apartment in Faridabad. The video of the incident was shared on Twitter and soon went viral. "Appalled to see this video of a mother from #Faridabad! Heights of carelessness, insensitivity & irresponsibility. She has no right to risk her kid's life," the Twitter post caption read.
