“The Voice” Season 12 wrapped up this week and named Chris Blue its newest champion.

Following his successful stint in the hit NBC reality TV competition, Blue opened up to Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming projects. Just like all of the previous winners and some of the contestants on “The Voice,” Blue will most certainly release an album. Unfortunately, the professional singer still doesn’t have any idea when this will take place. However, Blue knows that fans wouldn’t have to wait very long for it.

“Listen, we won ‘The Voice’ last night so that means today is a day we’re gonna start working hard. Work starts right now. So friends, the album will come out really soon. We don’t want to keep anyone waiting, and I’m eager to get to work!” he said.

Blue also happened to be the first ever contestant from Alicia Keys’ team to have won “The Voice.” The “If I Ain’t Got You” singer has been part of the reality TV show since Season 11. Keys won’t also be returning to “The Voice” Season 13, so Blue’s win served as a wonderful send-off for her.

Talking about his and Keys’ success, Blue couldn’t help but feel proud of being the first winner from the singer’s team. “It’s been a season of firsts, it really has. It’s pretty special. I guess season 12 was meant to be for Alicia Keys and for Chris Blue,” he said.

Earlier this month, Keys spoke with Entertainment Tonight to announce her exit from “The Voice” after two seasons. The singer revealed that she will be preoccupied with the upcoming release of her new songs. “That’s one of the reasons I’m not going to be able to come back for next season,” she said.

Meanwhile, “The Voice” Season 13 will see the return of Season 11 coach Miley Cyrus, according to Variety. She will be joined by “American Idol” alum Jennifer Hudson and resident coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. This means that Shelton’s girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, won’t be part of the upcoming season. Kelly Clarkson has also signed on to act as coach in “The Voice” Season 14.
