Ukraine's Defense Ministry on Friday posted a video of Ukrainian soldiers using their weapons as instruments in a "shock-show orchestra" as the eastern European country continues to fight Russia's advances.

"Ukrainian carols, military style," the Defense of Ukraine shared on Twitter, a day before the Orthodox Church's celebration of Christmas Day.

Soldiers were seen using various weapons and a xylophone as instruments to play a Ukrainian Christmas carol. The video has since gained around 300,000 views and thousands of likes.

Users congratulated the soldier's Christmas spirit amid the war.

"Your bravery, your spirit & your souls are saluted right around the globe," one user wrote.

Another user jokingly asked where the soldiers got a xylophone.

"Merry Christmas from Phoenix, Arizona. Praying for you! ...but where the f$ck you get a xylophone?" user @dsolmos tweeted.

The gesture came amid Russia's declaration of a 36-hour ceasefire from Friday to Saturday for Orthodox Christmas — a move rejected by the Ukrainian government.

During his address on Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia aims to use the holiday "as a cover" to resupply and stop Ukrainian advances in the eastern Donbas region, CNN reported.

"What will this accomplish? Only another increase in the casualty count," Zelensky said.

Attacks were reported in at least seven regions in the East and South of Ukraine despite Moscow's ceasefire declaration. At least three people were killed, according to a report by the Guardian.

Yaroslav Yanushevvych, governor of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, said Russian troops shelled the southern Kherson Oblast 39 times on Friday.

A first responder was killed, while seven civilians were reportedly injured in the attack.

Photos by Reuters, meanwhile, showed shelling on the Ukrainian town of Bakhmut on Saturday.

In an address on the same day, Zelenskiy said the attacks showed Moscow could not be trusted.

"They were saying something about a supposed ceasefire. The reality, however, was that Russian shells once again hit Bakhmut and other Ukrainian positions," Zelensky said.
