uber
A night in an Uber turned into a viral Twitter story. Uber

Twitter found a celebrity in the form of Kelli Amirah, the social media user with the handle @KelliAmirah. Last week, she told a hilarious story about having a crush on her Uber driver.

“It all started on Saturday night, when me and my friends got an uber to this party,” she wrote Tuesday. “The driver called to let me know he was outside and I'm like bet, we're coming. Hung up. Made the observation that his voice was fine af.”

Turned out the driver was attractive in person. Amirah wanted to hit on him, but she got nervous. She devised a plan to leave her phone charger behind so they would meet up again.

Part of what made Amirah’s story funny are the memes she used to express herself.

The other part that makes the tale endearing is that her plan didn’t go the way she envisioned. “So the next day I still haven't heard s--- back from this man. Mind you, I left my good charger in his car so my phone battery on struggle,” she wrote. “So I leave another message but at this point I'm thinking how stupid this was. What if this man just keeps my charger? Why you do this Kelli.”

It’s also relatable: “So fast forward to Monday night, I'm pressed, tryna cram for my Econ final. Questioning my whole college existence at this point TBH.”

Finally, Amirah heard back from the attractive Uber driver, whose name she never revealed. “I'm excited. I finally got a response. I'm gonna get my charger back. And now I can actually shoot my shot,” she wrote.

When she got her charger back, Amirah finally asked the driver out even though she was still nervous. He said to “text her.” When she did, he told her he was married.

Moral of the story, don’t leave a phone charger behind in pursuit of a good-looking Uber driver who might be married.
