TikTok influencers Charli and Dixie D’Amelio are losing thousands of followers on social media following a YouTube video in which the sisters were accused of being rude to their personal chef Aaron May.

In the “Dinner With the D’Amelios” video, Charli and Dixie had dinner with their mother, father, and special guest, James Charles.

However, the dinner began to go bad when the chef presented the main course, paella. When dinner was served, Dixie began making faces that suggested she was disgusted with the meal.

At one point, she picked something up and began chewing it to figure out what it was. When the chef told her it was a snail, she began making gagging noises at the table.

Dixie’s mother wasn’t pleased with the sounds and ordered her daughter to leave the table. “So dramatic. Get up, excuse yourself,” she said.

Dixie continued to loudly gaga and eventually threw up. Meanwhile, Charli asked if they had any “dino nuggets” that she could eat instead.

When Dixie returned to the table she confronted Chef Aaron about putting snails in the main course.

Things continued to go downhill when Charli began complaining about not having enough time to draw in more followers on TikTok. “‘Cause imagine if I hit 100 mil a year after hitting a mil,” Charli said.

However, Charles appeared to think that Charli should have been satisfied with the large following she already had. “Was the 95 [million] not enough for you?” he replied.

It appears Charli may find herself even more disappointed about her followers since the number has plummeted by more than 500,000 after the family video was shared, BuzzFeed reports.

In the comment section, viewers slammed the girls over their rude and disrespectful behavior to their personal chef.

Some went on to point out that the parents did little to reprimand the girls over their behavior towards the chef.

Following the backlash, Dixie shared a video on TikTok in which she denied disrespecting the chef. She claimed that her team pranked her, knowing she would have a bad reaction when she ate the snail.

“I would never in any way wanna be taken as disrespectful, especially from an out-of-context 15-second clip,” she said.

“Basically, that clip, that wasn’t in the original video, is my team, and chef Aaron May trying to convince me to try snail, knowing that I would have a reaction. I love Chef, and I would never disrespect him in any way.”

Meanwhile, Charli took Instagram Live for an emotional session. She revealed she has received a lot of negative comments and some people have told her to kill herself.

Charli went on to say that she didn’t know if she wanted to continue to be an influencer if those were the type of comments she would receive over a mistake.
