A 25-year-old Louisiana woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during an altercation that ensued after he urinated in their bed.

Detectives from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reached a local hospital early Saturday morning to investigate a stabbing incident. At the hospital, the victim told officers that his girlfriend, identified as Briana Lacost, got furious at him after he urinated in their bed.

The victim explained both of them were intoxicated, as they had been out drinking heavily, WAFB reported. They both reached their home on Meadowview Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

When Lacost went to the bedroom, she found that the victim had urinated on himself, which made her upset that she began hitting him. While he attempted to stop her, she continued to hit him, according to arrest documents obtained by the outlet.

The victim tried to leave the house to go to a family member's residence. At this moment, Lacost "charged at him" with a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the left side of his torso, puncturing her lung.

After she was taken into custody, Lacost admitted to stabbing her boyfriend. She told deputies that "she grabbed the victim and ripped him out of bed." That was when the couple started fighting.

However, she further claimed she picked up the knife only after the victim tried to choke her during the altercation, BRProud reported. She said she stabbed the victim under the arm when it looked like he was trying to leave. She also told investigators she provided medical aid to him and rushed him to the hospital.

Authorities did not reveal the identity of the victim who has been Lacost's live-in boyfriend for the past 1.5 years. His current medical condition remains unknown.

Lacost was charged with domestic abuse battery and attempted second-degree murder and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

In another unrelated incident that took place in November 2022, a woman stabbed herboyfriend multiple times for not helping her with the bills. The victim managed to escape the apartment and call for help. Cops arrived at the scene where they found him "bleeding profusely." The girlfriend, identified as 30-year-old Cassandra Gutierrez, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
