She isn’t everyone’s favorite person in Genoa City, but those who are closest to her will quickly gather at the hospital and wait for news to see if Hilary will survive after a devastating car accident on the Thursday, July 19 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Lily (Christel Khalil) were in the middle of a heated argument once again on the CBS soap, as they drove with Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) to try and find Shauna (Camryn Hamm), after their fight at the penthouse caused the girl to flee. During the fight, Lily ran a red light, and the car went directly into the path of a truck, which smashed into the side of the car Hilary was on.

Now, she and Lily will both be rushed to the hospital as a result, with every effort being made to save both women. Lily will be found to be okay after a short while since the impact wasn’t as forceful for her, but the same won’t be able to be said for Hilary.

To make matters worse, Hilary is pregnant with Devon’s (Bryton James) baby, making the attempt to rescue her even more critical, because hers is not the only life on the line. As the fight to save her continues, Neil (Kristoff St. John), Cane (Daniel Goddard), Charlie, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Shauna will all wait for word in the hospital waiting area. However, the news may not be the kind they hope to hear in the end, as it would seem likely that either Hilary, the baby, or both, will be lost as a result of the crash.

The news will be a massive shock to all of them, because while the Ashby family and Neil all had personal issues with Hilary, knowing what losing her or the baby could do to Devon is devastating, and knowing she herself could be gone will still be hard for them all to swallow as well. Of course, what will be even more difficult for them could be knowing they have to share the news with the ones who did love her—like Devon, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes).

Even if by a miracle Hilary survives the crash, but loses the baby, nothing will ever be the same for her in Genoa City again.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
