Nick on "The Young and the Restless"
Nick (Joshua Morrow) threatens to tell Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan, not pictured) the truth about Chloe’s accomplice on the June 2, 2017 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

He was there when Chelsea made the shocking discovery that Chloe had committed suicide. Now, on the Friday, June 2 episode of “The Young and the Restless,” Nick is considering betraying his family’s wishes and coming clean to her about who Chloe’s former accomplice was when it came to Adam’s death.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) had both previously promised Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on the CBS soap that they wouldn’t share the news that Victor (Eric Braden) was Chloe’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) accomplice when it came to framing Adam for a murder he didn’t commit, which inadvertently led to his death. After Victor then told him to make sure Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) stopped digging to find that information out, Nick decided he would not only encourage Chelsea to keep looking for Chloe, but even help her track her down.

However, after they found her and realized she had died after overdosing on prescription pills, Nick’s guilt has increased over the secret. Not only does he know the answers Chelsea seeks, but he is now the only one who can actually give them to her. Chloe’s death gave up all the leads Chelsea could have gotten when it came to figuring out who the mysterious accomplice was, meaning if Nick doesn’t tell her the truth, she’ll never know it.

Now, back home in Genoa City, he will confront Nikki for forcing him to lie to the woman he loves, and when Nikki scolds him for helping Chelsea out and betraying the family, he will fight back by reminding her that the lack of honesty in her relationship with Victor is part of the reason they are all in this mess now.

“I want a relationship that’s built on honesty and trust,” he says in a preview clip. “I don’t want to be like you and dad.”

Nikki will be stunned by Nick’s actions, but after Victoria may also start to rebuff the original plan, which cost her a relationship with Billy (Jason Thompson), Nikki may be forced to start deciding how she’ll go about things in the future. She may either be forced to finally end her marriage once and for all and file for divorce from Victor, or against her children’s wishes, and begin to forgive him for what he’s done.

No matter which decision she makes though, her kids are starting to express upset over her swearing them to secrecy in the first place. Even if Nick does come clean to Chelsea, which is the right thing to do, it will likely cost him his relationship with her because of the magnitude of the secret. As for Victoria, her ability to win Billy back continues shrinking every day, as he keeps growing closer to Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). Knowing that yet again, their parents and their schemes affected them both so badly, they may decide it’s no longer worth being so committed to their Newman roots.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
