They’ve been preparing for this day for a while, and now, what should be the best day of Kyle and Lola’s lives has finally arrived. However, whether or not their wedding will go as they planned may not even be up to them in the end on the Friday, August 16 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Caille) haven’t had it easy on their road to happily ever after, including when she was pushed by her former sister-in-law and then needed a liver transplant, which she only got when Kyle went through with marrying Summer (Hunter King). After her recovery on the CBS soap, that marriage fizzled quickly and Kyle and Lola were able to get back together, which has brought them to this moment and day—but there are still some issues that have been circling them an threatening their big day.

On Lola’s side, conflicts with her mom Celeste (Eva LaRue) led to the woman fleeing back to Florida and refusing to attend the wedding, something Jack (Peter Bergman) wanted to remedy for his daughter-in-law. Meanwhile, Kyle’s past mistakes in New York with Theo (Tyler Johnson) are also threatening to cause trouble because while Summer warned the other man to leave the situation alone and not cause trouble for Kyle, he was looking up the woman who could unravel his entire life.

Still, despite some of the efforts to derail the couple’s plans, nothing will stop them from getting to their big day.

Of course, some things may still happen at the event—especially when Jack succeeds with his goal to get Lola’s mom back to Genoa City and there to walk her daughter down the aisle. Of course, someone else who no one in the Rosales family wants to see may also arrive too, and though he’ll keep his presence hidden from Lola for now, her father Adrian’s (Jay Montalvo) arrival could still spell trouble.

“Someone crashes the wedding,” spoilers state.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
