Everyone has their pet peeves, and the same goes for the Queen of England. Queen Elizabeth II has quite a few things that she reportedly hates. Check them out below:

“Pregnant” — The Queen prefers the term “in the family way” and finds the word “pregnant” to be “vulgar,” Us Weekly reports. Royal watchers will remember that the p-word was left out of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s October announcement that she is with child.

Wedges — Though the heeled shoes would seem to be the perfect alternative to stilettos at polo matches and other events on the grass, Queen Elizabeth does not care for them. “The Queen isn’t a fan of wedged shoes,” a source revealed to Vanity Fair. “She really doesn’t like them and it’s well known among the women in the family.” That doesn’t stop Kate Middleton from occasionally donning them in public.

Meghan Markle’s Style — It’s not just her shoes. It’s not just her off-the-shoulder dresses. It’s not just her preference to ditch pantyhose. It’s everything about the Duchess of Sussex’s style that the Queen doesn’t like.

The Daily Mail reports that the Queen was surprised to see Meghan wearing such a bright shade of white on her wedding day. Meghan’s short hemlines, affinity for black and her choice of non-British designers have apparently left aides telling her that she needs to be less Hollywood and more royal.

The Imperial State Crown — The headpiece, designed for George VI’s coronation, is so heavy that the Queen must keep her head perfectly upright. In a BBC documentary called “The Coronation,” Express reports, Queen Elizabeth II reveals to royal commentator Alastair Bruce that the nearly 3-pound crown has it’s “disadvantages,” but she understands its importance.

“The Crown” — Audiences around the world love the Netflix drama, but apparently, the monarch does not appreciate the creative embellishments. “She was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his son’s wellbeing,” a senior courtier told Express. “She was particularly annoyed at a scene in which Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland. That simply did not happen.”

And then there’s food. The Queen does not seem to be a foodie. These are just a few of her dislikes.

Garlic — The sovereign is not a fan of bad breath, and that’s why you won’t see any royals enjoying garlic in public. “The queen would never have garlic on the menu,” Darren McGrady, a former royal chef, told Recipes Plus.

Onions — The same goes for onions as well.

Starches — Her royal highness does not enjoy starches for the most part. Potatoes and pasta are not often on her plate.

Rare Meat — “We also couldn’t serve meat that was rare, as she liked her meat more well done,” McGrady added.

White Eggs — The Queen thinks brown ones taste better, according to The Guardian.

Sandwich Crusts — The crust has to be cut off, The Telegraph reports.
