The 8-year-boy who was shot and wounded by a stray bullet while browsing for chips in a Bronx deli last weekend was released from the hospital Monday, according to NY1. Armando Vigo was standing near the front door of the bodega when a bullet hit him in his left shoulder.

Officials say that 15-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez was riding by on his bicycle when he fired bullets into a crowd of people just outside of the deli. Rodriguez is being charged with attempted murder, assault and weapons possession.

Vigo still has a bullet stuck in a bone near his neck and doctors refuse to remove the slug for fear of causing more damage.
