More details about Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk’s breakup are coming into light, and there are now claims that “A Star Is Born” actually put a strain on their relationship and this might have led to the demise of their romance.

On Monday, an entertainment source exclusively disclosed to People that Cooper’s movie with Lady Gaga played a part in his split with Shayk. The project allegedly caused Bradley to be not so emotionally invested in his relationship, and Irina noticed this.

“Bradley was emotionally absent during the long time filming ‘A Star Is Born.’ They tried to save the relationship but it had changed,” the source said. “Since Bradley and Irina have always been very private about their relationship few knew there was really for sure something going on.”

Unbeknownst to many, Cooper and Shayk were already drifting apart months before they announced their breakup. It wasn’t evident because they managed to put on a united front, especially during the award season when the two were busy attending award-giving ceremonies left and right.

The Hollywood actor did give a subtle hint about the trouble in paradise when he accepted the award for best original music at the BAFTA awards earlier this year. During his speech, he thanked Irina for putting up with him as he worked and rehearsed the music for the film in their basement for about a year.

Last week, an insider also told Page Six that things just didn’t work for the actor and the model since they had “very little in common” and they only realized this once “the lust wore off.” They also didn’t see things eye to eye since Shayk was already expecting a wedding proposal after they welcomed their daughter, Lea De Seine, in March 2017.

Bradley, on his part, tried to appease Shayk when things were already in a downward spiral. When this year’s awards season ended, he immediately reduced his working engagements to give time and focus on his family with Shayk. But it’s clear that Cooper’s final attempt to save their romance didn’t work. As of late, he and Shayk are figuring out what to do as they continue to co-parent their daughter.
