Is CW’s ‘The Outpost’ Renewed Or Canceled? Season 3 Update Before Finale

In tonight’s Season 2 finale of The CW’s fantasy drama “The Outpost,” everything comes to a head when the Prime Order makes their way to the compound, ready to attack with full force. It’ll be up to Talon (Jessica Green) to make sure the Outpost doesn’t fall.

Once the two-hour season-ender finishes, fans will not only be thinking about everything they just watched, but they’ll also be wondering when they’ll get to see what happens next. Unfortunately, that’s still up in the air.

The CW has not yet renewed “The Outpost” for Season 3. The good news, though, is that the fantasy series also hasn’t been canceled yet, either. The network didn’t make its Season 2 renewal decision last year until a week after the Season 1 finale aired, so it’s possible they could be waiting a week before they make their decision this time around, as well.

Aside from Green, the show, which debuted on The CW in July 2018 and was created by Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin, also stars Jake Stormoen (Captain Garret Spears), Imogen Waterhouse (Gwynn Calkussar) and Anand Desai-Barochia (Janzo) in its cast.

It’s currently averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 600,000 weekly viewers, according to TV Series Finale. Although the two-hour finale might boost these numbers slightly, where they sit right now, they’re less than Season 1’s already-meager ratings of 0.14 in the demo and 628,000 average weekly viewers.

No matter what happens, “The Outpost” fans still have two more episodes of the show to enjoy before finding out if it’s going to be renewed for Season 3 or canceled. Both of the episodes air back to back tonight, starting at 8 p.m. EDT with Season 2, episode 12, titled "In The Worst Corner of My Memory.”

“Garret faces a bitter enemy while Talon fights off the Prime Order,” the synopsis shares. “Naya (guest star Amita Suman) is imprisoned for her crimes as Janzo continues to come to her defense. The Mistress (guest star Robyn Malcolm) pieces together some very important pieces of Janzo’s history. Meanwhile, the Prime Order army marches toward the Outpost.”

Immediately afterward, episode 13, aka the season finale titled ”This Is Our Outpost,” will air to wrap up the season and to, likely, set in motion storylines for a possible third season.

“The Prime Order attacks the Outpost. Talon risks everything with a bold plan, as Garret seeks his revenge,” according to the synopsis. “Meanwhile, Gwynn has to decide the fate of someone she held near and once trusted.”

The two-hour conclusion to Season 2 of “The Outpost” airs on The CW on Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT, but fans better prepare themselves because star Desai-Barochia teased on Twitter, “YOU. ARE. NOT. READY.”
