Fans are still going to have to wait until the fall for a new season of “Dancing With the Stars,” but when the show finally returns to ABC, it could include a familiar piece of its past—at least, if host Tom Bergeron has his way.

Taking to Twitter, Bergeron commented on an article suggesting that the series bring back its one-time Tuesday night results show, pared down to a 30-minute timeslot instead of the full hour it used to receive. Bergeron agreed with the assessment, stating that the show should, in fact, bring back the additional night of viewing.

“Let me second @MarcBermanMrTV’s thoughts about the return of #DancingABC,” he wrote.

While Bergeron likely doesn’t get much say when it comes to the way things are done on the series, the results show coming back could be a good thing for the competition show, which came under more fire than usual after Season 27 saw “Grocery Store” Joe Amabile make it to the semifinals and Bobby Bones take home the Mirrorball trophy—despite neither one really dancing as well as any of the other competitors who made it that far in the competition.

The results show, which used to last for one hour on Tuesdays, ended after Season 17, which also changed the way votes were tallied and counted for team scores. The results show used to feature a couple going home after the viewer votes and scores from the night before were tallied together. However, since it ended, the show changed things up where the votes from the previous week were tallied with the scores the judges gave during that night’s performance—meaning that even if a team had improved dramatically one week over the other, their ouster could be determined by lackluster voting that occurred the week before.

That system generally put more emphasis on the fanbase that votes however, which led to the problems that caused outrage in Season 27. As a result, it could benefit the show, which some fans have called on to change the voting system, to consider going back to the old setup in Season 28.

Whatever happens will be determined at a later date, and when it comes to who will dance for the chance to take the next Mirrorball, fans will need to wait until the show comes back to find out. The series usually doesn’t reveal their cast until just before the new season premieres, but as always, several celebs have announced their hopes that they could be cast.

Not long after Dina Lohan expressed a desire to participate on the show, someone else has made it clear that they would also be up for a run. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Natasha Bure, the 20-year-old daughter of Candace Cameron Bure, admitted she would love to follow in her mother’s footsteps and compete on the show.

“I would love to do ‘Dancing with the Stars,’” she said. “I think it would be the coolest thing. I’m so competitive. One day, hopefully.”
