Disney+ will eventually have the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe in their library but there will be two missing in its line-up. Unfortunately, viewers won’t be able to stream “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” for the foreseeable future.

Due to Sony still having ownership of the Spider-Man franchise, Disney doesn’t have the rights to stream the films on their new service. Speaking with The Verge, Disney’s head of marketing and content for Disney+ Ricky Strauss revealed that there also weren’t any plans to bring both MCU Spider-Man films onto the streaming platform any time soon.

“We love our friends at Sony, but we don’t have any plans to have the live-action Spider-Man movies on Disney+,” he said. “We will have all the Spider-Man animated shows that we did so they’ll be on there under the Marvel banner. But who knows what can happen in the future?”

Marvel and Sony previously had an impasse while struggling for a deal for Spider-Man earlier this year after the success of “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” The two studios finally brokered a deal to use the character for at least one additional film. Starring Tom Holland, the MCU’s Spider-Man made his first appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.”

Disney+ has managed to gather much of the entire Marvel library into its service, making multiple deals in order to do so. “Avengers: Endgame” was released at launch, one month earlier than expected, along with several other films. Still, not every movie within the MCU has yet made it to the service.

Other than the Spider-Man films, Disney+ has yet to acquire the rights to “Black Panther,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp” or “Avengers: Infinity War” due to their distribution rights being owned by Netflix and Universal Pictures respectfully. Once Netflix’s contract for those Marvel movies expires at the end of 2019, they will make their way to Disney+.
