The Biden administration has officially called on two members of the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition to step down or face termination.

The White House requested Dr. Mehmet Oz and Herschel Walker, who are now Republican Senate candidates in Pennsylvania and Georgia, respectively, to step down from their positions as the administration forbids federal candidates to be members of presidential boards.

Former President Donald Trump reappointed the celebrity doctor and former NFL player to two-year terms in December 2020. Both Dr. Oz and Walker have never served as elected officials.

Dr. Oz posted a video that shows the letter, which was signed by Gautam Raghavan, the deputy director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.

The letter from Raghavan reads: "Please submit your resignation to me by the close of business today. Should we not receive your resignation, your position with the Council will be terminated effective 6:00 p.m. tonight."

In the video, Dr. Oz said he won't step down, citing the politicization of health.

"I've got no intentions, my friends, of resigning. None," said Dr. Oz. “If President Biden wants to politicize health, he'll have to fire me. Let Americans see how truly petty and political he truly is.”

At 11:26 a.m. ET, Walker posted on Twitter that he will not resign.
