People in Rawa Buaya in Indonesia's West Java province have a shocking new method for curing illness.

Residents of the town are heading to the local train tracks whenever they aren't feeling well. They believe that the electrical energy from the tracks will cure them of their afflictions.

The townspeople grip the rails, hoping that a current will flow from the tracks through their bodies. There are sometimes dozens of people sitting on the rails at a time, watching trains zoom by on other lines.

It's certainly not the most far-fetched thing people have done to get well, but it is rather dangerous. There aren't many cure-alls that, when done wrong, have a result quite as serious as sitting on train tracks.
