  • Josh Efird shared a screenshot of his Cash App account on his birthday
  • The reality star said willing fans can send him gifts through his account
  • He was slammed for asking for money despite his family's reality TV earnings

Josh Efird turned 26 Tuesday, and he celebrated his birthday by sharing his Cash App account on social media for fans who wanted to send him money as a gift.

Pumpkin Shannon’s husband took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his Cash App account details. He thanked everyone for their birthday wishes in advance and revealed that some followers had asked him to post his Cash App so they could send gifts to him.

“Happy birthday to me. The big 26. ... Here’s my cash app if anyone wants to send a gift. Thank you to all the birthday wishes in advance,” he wrote.

Josh continued, “[By the way], someone told me to post my Cash App for birthday gifts, not for disrespectful c---s to post in the comments. Thanks again.”

Some social media users did not like that the “Mama June: Road to Redemption” star seemingly asked fans for money on his birthday and criticized his gesture in the comments section.

“Are you really asking for [money]?” one wrote.

“Josh, I really like you, but asking for gifts? Not a good look,” another opined.

“Wait. Dude, I like you, but [I] know dang well you need not be asking for people to give you money. You get paid to be on TV…. Sigh,” a third user commented.

But many fans also understood Josh and defended him from the critics, saying he needed cash gifts because of his growing family.

“He has five kids to provide for. Pumpkin and Josh both have jobs. If TV paid them enough do you think they’d both be working? Let the man post his Cash App for his birthday, everyone else does,” one fan wrote, defending Josh.

“So everybody else that posts their Cash App on their birthday, do y’all make these comments to them too? He’s not asking or telling you to give him money or a present. He’s posting it for those that would like to give him money for a gift. If you don’t want to, it’s simple: don’t do it. But don’t hound someone just because you’re assuming you know their financial situation,” another supporter added.

Josh appeared to have since edited his post as it now reads: “Happy 26th birthday to me. A lot of people asked to send me something so here’s my Cash App. Thank you for all the happy birthday wishes and love and gifts. Shout [out] to all the positive people.”

Celebrity Net Worth listed Pumpkin’s, 21, net worth as $200,000 based on her accumulated earnings from reality TV. However, the financial website did not have information about Josh’s earnings.

Celebrity news outlet Stars Offline claimed Josh has amassed a $700 net worth from his stint on the different reality shows he starred in alongside his wife and the different jobs he had over the years, including his work as a mechanic for a Big D repair shop. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

Josh and Pumpkin are parents to four children: Ella, 4, Bentley Jameson, 1, and newborn twins Stella Renae and Sylus Rae. Pumpkin also serves as the legal guardian of her younger sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 16, after she was granted sole physical custody of the teen last month.
