The Secret Service has finally acted on Kathy Griffin’s controversial fake decapitated head photo of the President Donald Trump.

According to the New York Daily News, the interview with Griffin, which took place in her home, lasted for about an hour. As of late, the comedian has not yet shared any information regarding the discussion that she had with the Secret Service.

But last month, Griffin threw shade at TMZ after a Think Progress article noted that the publication quickly became one of America’s most pro-Trump media outlets. On her Twitter account, Griffin sarcastically wished that the publication will never be subjected to federal investigation like she has been.

Also in the same month, Griffin’s attorney, Dmitry Gorin, released a statement (via the New York Times) saying that they will fully cooperate with the Secret Service’s investigation. However, he stressed the fact that the investigation shouldn’t have been initiated in the first place since his client simply exercised her First Amendment rights to tell a joke. “When you look at everything in the media, all the times entertainers make videos or express themselves in other ways, you’ve never seen an entertainer, let alone a comedian, be subject to a criminal investigation,” he said.

In May, Griffin posed with a fake decapitated head of Trump during her photo shoot with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields. After posting the snap on social media, Griffin was criticized by people from all over the world. The former CNN host apologized for her deed and vowed to take the photo down, but this didn’t seem enough for those she offended. Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., responded to Griffin’s post and called it “disgusting but not surprising.”

Griffin’s hosting gig with CNN has also been terminated following the incident. A few days later, she held a press conference where she and her lawyer revealed that they will continue to speak up against the president of the United States. She also stressed that Trump and his entire family are hellbent on destroying her. Griffin called Trump a “bully” at the press conference, which was attended by various networks and publications, according to USA Today.
