“Lucifer” Season 3 will soon give villainous character The Sinnerman a face.

Just recently, Fox cast “Leftovers” star Kevin Carroll to give life to the character. The character was first mentioned in the Season 3 premiere when Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) found out that The Sinnerman was the one who gave him his angel wings back. Initially, Lucifer thought that his dad, God, had something to do with it.

Carroll confirmed his casting via his Twitter account. The actor also responded to showrunner Joe Henderson’s comments about his “good” portrayal of his character.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, “Lucifer” Henderson confirmed that The Sinnerman will be one of the focal points for the show. “The Sinnerman is going to be one of the big focal points for Lucifer’s investigations into who did these things to him. So that’s a nice, cool, juicy character that we’re going to introduce a little bit into the season,” he said.

The Sinnerman is described as a “mysterious and twisted criminal mastermind” who is known for doing favors. He has set his sights on the lead character and has some deep-seated motivations with regards to targeting the devil. As of late, it is still unclear why The Sinnerman is targeting Lucifer, but this will be unveiled in the upcoming episodes.

Meanwhile, Henderson also told TV Line that Lucifer will be surprised when he comes face to face with The Sinnerman. Additionally, the villainous character also has a connection with newcomer Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling). “Detective Marcus Pierce will have a history with The Sinnerman, so that’s where our stories start to collide,” he said. Marcus was already introduced in the premiere episode last Monday.

Carroll will first appear in “Lucifer” Season 3, episode 6. The title for the upcoming installment is still being kept under wraps. Word about The Sinnerman first made headlines in August when it was revealed that an actor is already being cast for the role.

TV Line writer Michael Ausiello confirmed, at that time, that The Sinnerman will be a recurring character in “Lucifer” Season 3.

“Lucifer” Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
