Meghan Markle’s baby bump is so big, but she’s not due anytime soon.

The Duchess of Sussex said earlier that her baby won’t come until April. But many couldn’t help but wonder why her tummy is so huge when she’s still a few months away from her due date.

According to John Thoppil, MD, assistant clinical professor of OB-GYN at Texas A&M University College of Medicine, this could be due to Markle’s healthy lifestyle.

“When a woman carries high, her abdominal muscles are often in good shape, while lax muscles from age, previous pregnancies or decreased fitness can cause her to carry low,” he said.

Prince Harry’s wife is a yoga enthusiast and has strong abdominal muscles. This is the reason why her bump is carrying high and looking large.

Others suggest that the size and height of Markle’s baby bump have something to do with the gender of the baby. But Professor Steve Robson, the immediate past president of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, debunked the popular myth.

“It’s clear to say that a child’s genitals have nothing to do with how the woman’s body looks when she is pregnant,” he explained. “The way a woman carries a baby has more to do with the size of the baby.”

The explanations about Markle’s big baby bump come after conspiracy theories suggested that she’s faking her pregnancy. One netizen shared snaps of Markle taken on the same outing where her tummy appeared to be of different shapes and sizes. In one shot, Markle has a flat stomach. In another photo, she looked heavily pregnant. The Twitter user described it as Markle’s “magic baby bump.”

Also, earlier this month, another netizen accused Markle of faking her pregnancy due to the same reason: her ever-changing baby bump. The Twitter user shared a snap in which the Duchess of Sussex’s bump appeared to be square in shape. The netizen stressed that she has three kids but her baby bump was never shaped liked that.

Due to the false reports involving Markle, her fans launched a new website called Meghanpedia. The people behind it said that it is going to serve as a “fact based library” of reliable information about the pregnant royal.
