Nintendo Wii-U's app store is expected to arrive in the second half of 2012 Reuters

Nintendo will feature their own app store for their new upcoming system which will be vastly different and improved, as soon as the Wii-U releases.

According to Nintendo, their upcoming unnamed store is set to provide a more open variety of apps which will be different from the host of more “light” programs such as Mario calculators and smaller games that already exist in the DSi Shop and Wii Shop.

Although an official list of apps is yet to be released, it has been confirmed that MLB.TV will be available at the store. Other apps that will run independently on the Wii-U’s controller will also be available.

The Wii-U’s app store, whose currency system is yet to get any further information, is widely expected to arrive in the second half of 2012, according to a Daily report.
