Prince Charles showed a softer side of him as he played with his youngest grandchild Prince Louis.

BBC's documentary "Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70" featured the Prince of Wales gazing at Prince Louis adoringly. Kate Middleton was carrying her youngest son when Prince Charles took the time to play with the infant.

Prince Louis giggled in his mother's arms as the future king playfully clutched both of his little hands. The Duchess of Cambridge beamed with joy while watching them.

According to Alice Scarsi, a journalist for Express, the scene was just one of the many intimate moments filmed by the crew of filmmaker John Bridcut who followed the royal family around for 12 months. The documentary will show the unique insight of the heir's life.

Camilla Parker Bowles only had positive words about Prince Charles as a grandfather. According to the Duchess of Cornwall, her grandchildren love her husband.

"He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him," Camilla said in the documentary. "He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that."

Prince Charles was reportedly very excited when he learned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child together. In fact, he celebrated it with a toast "several times."

The Prince of Wales was very excited about the upcoming addition to the royal family. In fact, he dind't mind that the announcement was made a month before his 70th birthday.

According to Richard Kay, the upcoming royal baby is a chance for the future king to be the "grandfather that he never had." "For the Prince of Wales, the glad tidings have been received with delight. Not even the distinct possibility that Meghan’s pregnancy might yet overshadow his own celebration next month when he marks his landmark 70th birthday has brought so much as a princely murmur," Richard Kay wrote.

"Here, then, is an opportunity for Charles that was denied him with his first three grandchildren. He will be anxious to take it," Kay added.

Prince Charles and Middleton's relationship was reportedly not as great with Markle's because he felt that Carole and Michael Middleton were the favored grandparents. Nevertheless, the first in line to the throne remains sweet to Middleton and Prince William's kids.
