Princess Diana kept her head down in public for a reason.

The late Princess of Wales had been photographed looking down multiple times. Many assumed that Princess Diana was sulking, but she told Andrew Morton that she just did it because she wasn't "comfortable in [her] skin."

"When I first arrived on the scene I'd always put my head down," Princess Diana said in Morton's book "Diana: Her True Story - In Her Own Words" (as quoted by The Sun). "Now that I interpret it, that did look sulky. I've never sulked. I've been terrified out of my tiny little mind."

"I never sulked as a child, it's just not in me," Princess Diana continued. "I was just so frightened of the attention I was getting; it took me six years to get comfortable in this skin and now I'm ready to go forward."

Princess Diana confessed that her sudden transition into royal life was "too much" for her. "One minute I was nobody, the next minute I was Princess of Wales, mother, media toy, member of this family, you name it, and it was too much for one person at that time," Prince William and Prince Harry's mom said.

Dickie Arbiter also revealed that she kept her head down because she was conscious of her height. She also kept her head down so as not to make the other people she was talking to uncomfortable. In fact, he praised the late Princess of Wales.

"She was incredibly good, really, from the word 'go,'" Arbiter told Vogue.

There was reportedly a time when Princess Diana met a blind who cried because he couldn't see her. So, Princess Diana squatted down and took his hand and put it on her face because blind people are able to sense through touch.

"She had this capacity to instinctively react. You can’t teach anybody to do that," he added.

In related news, Princess Diana reportedly called Richard Kay before Sarah Ferguson's controversial photos landed on the front page of the tabloids. "The redhead's in trouble," the Princess of Wales told Kay.

Ferguson's toegate scandal has resurfaced. In the snap, Ferguson can be seen sunbathing while her financial advisor, James Bryan, sucks her toes.
