China-focused Silvercorp Metals Inc. expects to meet fiscal 2012 targets for exploratory drilling, the Vancouver-based company said Friday.

Silvercorp planned 244,000 meters of surface and underground drilling for its various projects for the 12 months ending March 31, 2012. As of the end of last month, the company had completed 523 diamond drill holes totaling 186,627 meters, which represents 76.5 percent of the planned drill program.

Drilling is ongoing and on schedule and the company expects to complete the planned drill program by the end of fiscal 2012, Silvercorp said in a statement.
