A Texas man who was arrested for the deaths of two women at a Texas A&M-Commerce University residence hall will also face another charge for killing a man on New Year's Eve.

21-year-old Jacques Dshawn Smith was charged with capital murder for killing his ex-girlfriend Abbaney Matts, 20, and her sister, Deja Matts, 19, at the Pride Rock residence hall Monday, according to Fox News.

A third victim – Abbaney's 2-year-old son – was also wounded during the shootout. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and has since been released.

Smith's second citation came after authorities served a search warrant in Rowlett, a Dallas suburb about 75 miles west of Texas A&M in relation to the university shooting. Here, Denton police linked the suspect to the death of Steven Daniels last year.

Daniels' body was discovered inside a gated apartment complex parking lot with a gunshot wound on his chest around 11:30 p.m. on December 31.

Two more individuals were arrested in line with the New Year's Eve shooting and were also charged with capital murder alongside Smith.

A week before the university murders, Smith was taken into custody and was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened Abbaney Matts with a knife.

He is now booked in Hunt County Jail with a bond of $2 million.
