Donald Trump made waves by cutting off his interview with CBS News' "60 Minutes" correspondent and posting the recording online before it officially aired.

His opponents characterized it as a retreat, fleeing from standard policy questions when interviewer Lesley Stahl called him on false statements. His supporters reiterated attacks on what they and Trump call the “fake news media,” saying that Stahl’s refusal to accept Trump’s version of events was the denial of reality.

Decide for yourself: Here are 5 highlights from the interview and its aftermath.

1. Trump Blames Rising COVID-19 Cases On Testing

Donald Trump has often said in the past that the U.S. should decrease testing to lower COVID-19 rates. While this doesn’t pass muster with anyone that understands how testing works, it’s been a mainstay of Trump’s COVID-19 defense. When asked about COVID-19 of “60 Minutes,” Trump went for his classic response.

2. Trump Says He Has A Secret Health Care Plan Ready To Go

Trump and his Republican allies have been staunch in their opposition to the Affordable Care Act despite the law’s rising popularity over the years. It’s now slated to go in front of a Supreme Court stacked with judges hostile to the law. Trump has also said that he will create a new health care law, has already made a new health care law, or has one waiting to go as soon as the ACA is repealed and that people just can’t see right now.

Trump then gave "60 Minutes" his "health care plan." After Trump walked out of the interview, he had his press secretary Kayleigh McEnany give Stahl a massive binder which she said was his health care plan. It was too heavy for O’Donnell to lift, but all those pages didn’t amount to much: Upon examination, it was just the presidential orders and congressional motions he had already passed, not any sort of comprehensive health care bill.

Trump’s critics were quick to jump on the move on social media.

3. Trump Struggles To Drink A Glass Of Water

Trump once more used two hands to lift a glass of water during the interview. He’s done so before during rallies and interviews, always prompting speculation about his health. This time was no different.

4. Trump Talks About His “Suburban Women Please Like Me” Comment

Trump generated commentary and some ridicule when he asked suburban women to “please like him” during a rally. He currently trails opponent Joe Biden heavily among that demographic. When O’Donnell began to ask him about that, he said the comments had been a joke and reiterated his “fake news” stance.

5. Trump Alleges The Government Spied On His Campaign, Then Leaves The Interview

The total breakdown of the interview occurred when Trump repeated a frequent allegation that the government had spied on his campaign, which Stahl contested. Trump continued for a while before a producer jumped in to remind them of how much time they had remaining. Trump used the opportunity to abruptly end the interview.

There was one last notable moment, but it wasn’t from Trump and it didn’t occur during the interview. Former President Barack Obama talked about Trump’s interview during a speech over the weekend, saying, “if you have to walk out of a ‘60 Minutes’ interview, you’re never going to stand up to a dictator.”
