Two brave Bronx firefighters came to the rescue of a teenage girl on Saturday after a mugger robbed the girl of a gold chain. The firefighters on Engine 90 had just finished a job on Holland Avenue near Pelham Parkway, when they found a 15-year-old girl who had been knocked to the ground after the robbery.

The firefighters radioed fellow firefighters John Hessler and Ronny Fuentes, according to NY1, who were down the street and we able to apprehend the mugger. City Councilman James Vacca will honor the firefighters with a certificate of appreciation.

It was an unusual thing for us to do but I guess we were just in the right place at the right time, Fuentes said to CBS New York. It's something we don't usually have to worry about but at the time we were just reacting.
