“Vampire Diaries” fans – it’s time to stop, drop and feast on spoilers. Since the October 2 premiere date for Season 6 was announced, “TVD” lovers have had a plethora of news to pass the time with. But nothing compares to the recent bit of scoop that was just revealed – the Season 6 premiere title.

According to TV Line, executive producer Julie Plec confirmed that episode 1 of Season 6 will be called “I’ll Remember.”

A surprising title? Not so much if you consider the events that unfolded in the Season 5 finale. Audiences can’t forget that while Alaric and Enzo were welcomed back into the land of the living, the series lost Damon and Bonnie. Deaths never mattered in the past thanks to the “Other Side,” however the hit CW show made a game changing decision for the final episode when they decided to get rid of the land of the dead – permanently saying goodbye to countless beloved supernatural characters.

While Damon and Bonnie were among those lost, Plec previously told fans that they would be returning for Season 6 … in some form or another.

“Did they find peace?” Plec teased in a post-finale interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “Are we going to be left with Damon and [Bonnie] flashbacks, hallucinations and memories for the entirety of Season 6? Did they find their way somewhere else, and if so, where? I can tell you that the Other Side no longer exists, so they’re not there. There’s no coming back from that.”

As we previously reported, Season 6 of “the Vampire Diaries” will find the Mystic Fall crew in a “battle between good and evil within themselves.” The heartbreaking events will have put a strain on the group; however the upcoming season will follow their “journey back to each other to reclaim their home.”

TV Line further revealed that while the characters will be mourning the loss of Damon and Bonnie, fans shouldn’t expect a joyous “otherworldly” reunion in the premiere. In fact, Julie Plec explained that the “otherworldly” location of the pair will be a “part of the mystery of the beginning of the season.”

“It’s not torturous, but it’s by no means a roller coaster ride of fun,” she said of Bonnie and Damon’s location. “If nothing else, it’s a bit of an existential experience.”

Season 6 of “The Vampire Diaries” will premiere on The CW on October 2. What are you looking forward to seeing in the Season 6 premiere? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
