Two goals from Lionel Messi, and the second score of Alex Song’s short span at the Bernabeu, pushed Barcelona to a 3-1 victory over Real Zaragoza Saturday.

Barcelona took an early lead with a left footed shot from Messi in the center of the box in the 16th minute with an assist from Jordi Alba.

Zaragoza would shortly counter on a corner kick in the 24th after Francisco Montanes banged home a right footed shot.

Messi would play a pivotal role on the matches final goals. He assisted newcomer Alex Song in the 28th following a corner kick, and in the 60th scored his second outside the box.

Barcelona dictated the terms throughout the match with 65 percent possession, but Zaragoza failed to capitalize on their 13 shots to the Catalans eight.
