Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez threatened soccer legend Lionel Messi on Sunday, accusing the Argentinian superstar of disrespecting Mexico in a post-game video.

Alvarez took offense to a video that showed Messi and his Argentine teammates celebrating Saturday in the locker room, moments after their 2-0 win against Mexico in the World Cup in Qatar.

In the video, Messi appears to lightly brush aside a Mexican jersey that is near his foot. The video doesn't appear to show Messi expressing any type of disdain for Mexico or the Mexican jersey.

Video shows Messi and his Argentinian teammates celebrating their 2-0 victory over Mexico during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion, took exception to the video.

"Did you see Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag????" Alvarez posted on Twitter.

He continued with his outburst on Twitter: "[Messi] better pray to God that I don't find him!! Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico!"

Alvarez also took exception to the uniform on the floor of the locker room, as well.

"From the moment the Mexico jersey is on the floor it's already an insult," Alvarez posted on Twitter.

Messi has not responded to Alvarez's comments.

Both Argentina and Mexico are in contention to advance to the Round of 16. Argentina faces Poland on Wednesday, while Mexico faces Saudi Arabia.
