Will Ivanka Trump Run For President In 2024? Cousin Weighs In On Odds

Mary Trump, former President Donald Trump’s niece, on Tuesday weighed in on former first daughter Ivanka Trump potentially running for president in 2024.

Appearing as a guest on Sirius XM Radio, Mary said she believes Ivanka Trump’s and Donald Trump Jr.’s political careers are “over” after Donald’s departure from the White House.

“I think it’s completely over and they have their father to thank for that,” she told host Dean Obeidallah.

Both Ivanka and Don Jr. have previously been touted as possible Republican presidential candidates. In late-January, rumors claimed Ivanka was planning to challenge Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., for his seat in the Senate in 2022.

“Well, I, I, I don’t really get into the parlour games of Washington,” Rubio told Fox News host Chris Wallace after being asked about Ivanka’s political ambitions.

“When you decide to run for re-election in a state like Florida, you have to be prepared for a competitive race, you run it like a competitive race, so that’s what I’m preparing to run, a very competitive race against a tough opponent,” Rubio added.

Mary Trump, one of her uncle’s most vocal critics, also slammed Donald for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, and said Don Jr. would also be implicated for the rally. The ex-president’s son promoted baseless claims of widespread voter fraud at a pro-Trump rally before the mob breached the Capitol. Mary's book "Too Much and Never Enough," which sold 1 million copies the day it was released last year, is a scathing analysis of her uncle's life and career.

“The insurrection was a bridge too far,” Mary Trump said. “If there’s any justice, he [Donald Trump Jr.] will be indicted at some point as well,”

Mary also blasted Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, after reports showed they made up to $640 million in outside income during their time as White House senior advisers.

“All told, Ivanka made more than $13 million from the hotel since 2017, dropping from about $4 million a year between 2017 and 2019 to about $1.5 million last year, at least in part due to the pandemic,” a report from The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said.

Ivanka and Jared had both vowed to forego receiving salaries from the government after concerns of nepotism. However, Trump’s daughter and son-in-law still earned considerable amounts from Trump International Hotel in Washington.
