Will Prince Charles be a better king than Prince William after Queen Elizabeth II?

The royal fans have different opinions as to who will reign after the current monarch. Many want to skip the Prince of Wales and make the Duke of Cambridge the next king. However, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, it’s just reasonable for Prince Charles to take over after the Queen and added that he will make a good monarch.

“Monarchy embodies the hereditary principle for good or ill and the successor to the Queen, therefore, must be Charles,” Fitzwilliams explained.

“He has indeed had periods when he has been unpopular and he is, as we all know, the longest-serving heir apparent in our history.”

A decade ago, Prince Charles considered the role of being an activist king. However, when he turned 70, the Prince of Wales decided that the Queen’s way, that of neutrality, is the only way to do it.

“With the monarchy so pivotal to national unity in a deeply divided country, Charles will find his considerable experience, gained through so long an apprenticeship, is of very considerable use to the nation,” Fitzwilliams continued.

He added that Prince Charles’ charitable work is immense and the heir apparent has already proven himself prophetic on the environment, which he has campaigned for since 1968.

Fitzwilliams believed that Prince William will be “too happy to wait his turn.” Gill Knappet shared the same opinion. According to him, the Duke of Cambridge has no desire to reign before his appointed time.

“Although like his father, William will be destined to have a far shorter reign than his grandmother, he has said he has no desire to 'climb the ladder of kingship' before his time,” the author of “Charles, Prince of Wales” said.

In related news, Prince William is already prepping to take over Prince Charles’ title and the $1.3 billion “Duchy of Cornwall” estate which will be under his management when he becomes the new Prince of Wales.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles has been ramping up his preparations to be the next monarch. The Prince of Wales has been attending meetings for his future role as the heir to the throne.
