A Nevada woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing a man in a tunnel while having sex with him in July 2020.

Victor Daniels, who went by the name "Twilight," was found bleeding out on July 11 in tunnel number three, at the intersection between Industrial Road and Western Avenue, just south of Charleston Boulevard, in Las Vegas. Daniels suffered from stab wounds to the head and neck and succumbed to his injuries.

Las Vegas police department conducted a series of interviews and arrested Joanne Debernardo, 52, Saturday. She has been charged with murder.

Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police conducted several witness interviews since the incident. Several witnesses described Debernardo or identified her as the last person to be seen with Daniels. According to the witnesses, Debernardo was the last person to be seen with Daniels, KLAS reported.

Before Daniels' death in July, Debernardo allegedly had a loud argument with the victim.

"Daniels was involved in a heated argument with a female as well as being accused of sexual relations with another individual's girlfriend," a witness said, the outlet reported.

A primary witness told police that he saw Debernardo "straddling" the victim in the tunnel and observed her punching Daniels in the face while uttering insults, KVVU-TV reported.

The arrest warrant obtained by KLAS also quoted a witness statement that described Daniels as “a brutal person who used drugs and was known to sexually assault women.” Meanwhile, Debernardo is known to give out food and drinks to homeless people in the area.

Before the stabbing, Debernardo was heard saying to a friend, "Just tell me who it is, tell me who sinned; I'll take care of it because I’m coming of age tonight." She was then overheard saying that “she was going to get her sword on Friday,” according to police.

"Joanna said someone was going to be judged for their trials and that God would allow it," the warrant read, KLAS reported.

Apart from the murder charge, Debernardo is also facing charges for breaking into vehicles, domestic violence, burglary with the possession of a deadly weapon, assault and battery. She is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing the day before Thanksgiving.
