During a vacation to Sardinia, Camilla Parker Bowles took some time to relax and enjoy the sunny weather. However, an Italian magazine, which previously exploited Princess Diana’s death, is now causing a scandal for the Duchess of Cornwall.

In the middle of the brief getaway, the 72-year-old was unknowingly photographed in a bathing suit. The images were published by Chi magazine, which was slammed for circulating the pictures.

Richard Fitzwilliams told Express UK that the publication has shamefully violated Camilla’s privacy.

“Chi, a disgustingly lurid magazine, which published a highly intrusive photograph of Diana receiving oxygen in the back of the Mercedes after the terrible crash, is part of the publishing empire of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi,” the royal correspondent said.

After Princess Diana’s death in 1997, the Chi allegedly published the last picture of Princess Diana alive. The photo featured an image of the injured royal receiving oxygen at the site of the crash.

At the time, Chi’s editor, Umberto Brindani claimed he had no regrets about publishing the photo. “I published the picture for a very simple reason – it has never been seen before,” he said.

“In my opinion, it is not a picture which is offensive to the memory of Princess Diana. I found it rather tender and touching.”

Before her death, Diana was on vacation with her lover, Dodi Fayed, in Paris. The couple’s driver allegedly tried to outrun the paparazzi that were chasing Princess Diana and lost control of the vehicle.

Fitzwilliams claimed the reputation of the paparazzi has plummeted since exploiting Diana’s car crash. However, he insisted that they are still a threat to public figures. “The paparazzi, since their culpability in Diana’s tragic death, have far fewer outlets. But they remain a clear and present danger,” he explained.

As of Thursday afternoon, Buckingham Palace has not commented on the photographs of Camilla in a swimsuit.
