After Meghan Markle’s half-sister, Samantha, made an unexpected visit to Kensington Palace, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly turned what could have been another upset for the royal family into an opportunity to strengthen her relationship with Prince Harry.

For several months, Markle’s estranged family has had an open relationship with the press, which has mainly consisted of speaking negatively about the 37-year-old California native. However, behind closed doors, the former “Suits” star has been leaning on her husband and doing her best to bring honor to the title given to her by Queen Elizabeth II.

Sources told Entertainment Tonight Markle has turned her attention to her royal duties following her half-sister’s uninvited visit to the palace. “Meghan loves her new role,” an insider revealed.

“She takes it very seriously and wants to make a difference. She’s mindful that she’s representing the Queen and the royal family and doesn’t want to put a foot wrong.”

Along with wanting to please her in-laws, Markle continues to stand by her husband’s side. “She also realizes how important Harry’s role is as the New Commonwealth Youth Ambassador and wants to support him,” the source shared.

“They really consider themselves a great team,” the insider added.

On Monday, Markle’s sister told DailyMail TV she only traveled to the UK to deliver a letter to her sister. While the moment garnered plenty of media attention, Samantha wouldn’t reveal details about the message she sent to her half-sister. “I wanted to express the feelings of my father and myself in the letter. And I can’t say exactly what was in it. The world will just have to wait and see,” she teased.

However, sources revealed Kensington Palace won’t publicly acknowledge the letter. “The palace doesn’t want to dignify any of it because it just adds fuel to the fire,” said an insider.

“Samantha revels in the attention. Meghan is not corresponding with her sister or father [Thomas Markle],” the source added.

Markle reportedly stopped speaking to her father the day after the royal wedding and has made no attempt to contact him.
