“Married At First Sight” contestant Jamie Otis, who appeared on Season 1 of the hit FYI reality series, is known for making dozens of entertaining, behind-the-scenes videos with her husband Doug Hehner, who she met and married on the show. But as it turns out, those intimate moments shared on social media proved to be much more than just amusement for fans.

Viewers who tuned in to Doug and Jamie’s videos reached out to the reality star when they noticed a peculiar glow in Jamie’s right eye during the very end of their video titled "Married Life: Doug and Jamie: Shaving Private Doug." But being the “skeptical” person Jamie is, she didn’t pay much attention to the comments, despite the concerns about her health.

“I didn't think too much about it. I figured it was probably just the lighting,” Jamie wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. “It wasn't until several people were reaching out and two fans actually sent me news articles of kids who had an eerily similar looking ‘glow’ in their eye.”

In the articles sent to Jamie it explained that the “eerily similar” look found in the iris’ of others turned out to be tumors that went undetected until the images were posted to social media outlets.

With the encouragement of family and friends, the registered nurse decided to get an examination. “I went to the eye doctor & my vision was 20/20 (THANK YOU LASIK) but the doctor noticed my pupils were different sizes,” she explained in the post. “She then did more testing and realized my right eye has to compensate for the left eye because it is ‘lagging.’ Needless to say, I got back in today to be tested further in case I could have some sort of neurological damage.”

Jamie, who also starred in the “MAFS” spinoff, “The First Year,” went on to thank her FYI family for sharing their concerns.

“Truly, I feel like you've been so supportive & loving towards Doug and me from day one. But to take the time out of your busy day to warn me (repeatedly) until I actually go to the doc & get examined is so kind. It's so heartwarming to know that I have this big, extended family in you all,” Jamie gushed. “I can't thank you enough. Really, it means a lot to me. Love you guys!”

"Married at First Sight" has been renewed for a Season 3.
