The Friday before Mother’s Day each year marks the celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation Day. There are more than a million active-duty members in the military and many of them have spouses at home who are hoping for their safe return.

The day is observed as a part of National Military Appreciation Month and honors the spouses of servicemen and women for their sacrifices and support of soldiers.
