Prince William and Kate Middleton show their affection in a different way from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a reason.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known for being tactile as both are touchy-feely. Usually, they would be seen holding hands or touching each other's back. On the other hand, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are more reserved when it comes to PDA. According to the expert, the latter is "highly compatible" and doesn't need to show their love through public display of affection.

"They are absolute best friends, they are in the companionate stage of the relationship and have a strong tested love. They don’t have to do soppy eyes at each other, they don't have to touch each other every second," Tracey Cox told Express about Prince William and Middleton.

"And one of the reasons is that they have been together for so long and grew up together," Cox continued. "They have got high compatibility, whereas Meghan and Harry they are still getting to know each other."

Cox also noted that in Prince Harry and Markle's relationship both are stars, nobody is left behind. On the other hand, for Prince William and Middleton's the latter knows that the future king is the star.

"Same approach to the world, they both like to have a bit of fun, they very quickly settled into the appropriate level of affection," Cox said about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "Their body language shows nobody is at the bottom of the relationship and that is because it is an unusual situation with her being a Hollywood celebrity and him being the star."

"Usually there is only one star in the relationship," the body language and relationship expert continued. "Kate very much knows William is the star."

According to Cox, the Duchess of Cambridge's body language is "quite subservient" to Prince William. On the other hand, Markle and Prince Harry's relationship is very different. She also cited that the Duke of Cambridge's succession to the throne is another factor why Prince William and Middleton are less touchy to each other.

"This is why Meghan and Harry can have public display of affection in public while William and Kate tend not to," Cox said. "They can be a bit more modern and affectionate."

Markle will be celebrating her birthday on Saturday for the first time as an official royal. But, unlike last year, the couple will not have a trip to Africa and are reported to attend a wedding together.
