Slime Rancher 2
Slime Rancher 2 features more slimes and a brand new world to explore Monomi Park

KEY POINTS

  • Jellystone can be found along cliffs or inside caves
  • It is used to unlock and build basic technologies
  • They can be safely deposited in Refinery Links

Jellystone is one of the basic materials in "Slime Rancher 2" that's used to unlock new technology in the underground research station beneath Beatrix's base.

Though it technically isn't as valuable as the various Slime Plorts or Newbucks, Jellystone and other similar resources found across Rainbow Island are essential to making the slime ranching experience a lot easier.

"Slime Rancher 2" Jellystone Locations

Jellystones can be typically found inside caves or along the cliffs and the base of rocky hills, outcrops and free-standing rock formations. They appear as rocks covered in pink globules, hence their name.

When actively looking for Jellystones, players should stick to cliffsides or shorelines and explore every cave and tunnel they find to maximize their chances of finding a vein to mine. Each Jellystone Vein drops two or three ores, and they can be safely deposited at any Refinery Link on a map.

How to Harvest Jellystone

Unfortunately, the standard Vac is not strong enough to scoop up any other resource apart from food, plorts and slimes. In order to actually mine Jellystone in "Slime Rancher 2," players need to upgrade their equipment first.

Head down the stairs to the left of the plort terminal at the ranch and interact with the Fabricator next to the Refinery. Here, players will see the Resource Harvester upgrade for the Vac, which will allow them to collect Jellystones and other important materials from nodes all over Rainbow Island.

The Resource Harvester upgrade requires 450 Newbucks and 10 Cotton Plorts before it can be crafted.

Newbucks can be earned by simply depositing plorts at the ranch's terminal. Pink Plorts are the easiest to obtain, but they are also the cheapest. Consider selling rarer plorts like the ones dropped by Phosphor or Tabby Slimes to gain more money in a shorter span of time.

Cotton Plorts are dropped by the aptly-named Cotton Slimes, which can be found frolicking in the western part of the starting area. Feed them with carrots, and they will drop plorts like any other slime.

To maximize income and plort collection, players should create Largo slimes by feeding the plort of slime to another of a different breed.
